"Fangle" stands for "the technology of steering wheels" in Chinese. The company, previously known as Yuhuan Steering Wheel Factory, was founded by Mr. Lin Chuhua and his family in 1992. The early 1990s witnessed the beginning phase of China’s modern automotive industry and Mr. Lin’s passion for the craftsmanship of wood steering wheel led to his decision of transforming the family's furniture business into automotive parts.
 In 1993, Mr. Lin was able to sell his first steering wheels to a Malaysian AF customer. The business thrived since then. In 1999, Shanghai General Motors qualified Fangle to be a tier one supplier, hence marking the company’s growth into OEM business. Today the company's product range includes steering wheels of lacquered wood, reconstructed wood, leather and Cubic printing and, among others, gear shift knobs，racing seats and armrests.
In 2004, the familiy decided to re-name the company, Yuhuan Steering Wheel Factory, as Taizhou Fangle Auto Parts Co. Ltd. The company is located 6 hours’ drive or 40 minutes’ flight south of
Shanghai .
In the same year, some of the original owners decided to invest in a new company in Shanghai. The ownership of the company also underwent a major change, from an exclusive family business to collective ownership which included non-family members who joined the company as managers. The board believed this new structure would help maitain stablity and sustainable growth of the company. The new company, Shanghai Fangle Auto Parts Co. Ltd., is located in Jinshan Industrial Park on the outskirt of Shanghai and covers 80,000 square meters. This strategic move was to cater to the fast growing demand of China’s automotive industry as well as that of the major car makers around the world.
In 2006, Fangle USA was established in Detroit, which was designed to service customers in North America.
Today Fangle has become a vertically integrated manufacturer with in house capablities of aluminium and magensium diacasting, metal part forming and welding, metal pressing, polyurethane foaming, injection moulding, genuine wood and wood shell furnishing, leather wrapping, painting and hydrographic printing.
Fangle aims at provding the most competitive products and service to all customers that need our product and service.
Innovation has been an on-going effort at Fangle as part of our strive to deliver more values to customers. Around 70 new products were launched to market annually. Over the years, Fangle has held 36 Chinese patents and was awarded several government quality accredits. In addition, some of our R&D projects are listed as part of the National 863 Program (a leading government-financed high-tech research program). On August 17th, Fangle was named, among the other 160 automotive companies throughout the country, the National Export Base for Automotive Parts.
Fangle is also ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 certified.
